Phone system comparison

Cloud PBX, on-premise PBX or Teams-integrated Yeastar?

These are not three different brands to buy. They are different operating models. Start with control, resilience, user workflow and administration - then choose the Yeastar deployment that fits.

Comparison

Choose how you want the PBX to operate.

Zero’s focus is Yeastar PBX architecture with Yealink endpoints. Microsoft Teams integration is an optional workflow layer for users who prefer to work inside Teams.

Operational questionWho manages cloud tenancy, licensing and support?Who owns hosting, resilience, updates and network exposure?Which users genuinely benefit from Teams-based calling versus Yealink desk phones or Linkus?

Where Microsoft Teams fits.

Yeastar’s current direct Linkus integration can embed the P-Series extension into Microsoft Teams so users can make and receive PBX calls from the Teams interface. Yeastar states that its direct integration does not require a Teams Phone licence or Microsoft Calling Plan for the supported setup. Other Yeastar integration methods, including older or alternative Direct Routing / Call2Teams approaches, can have different licensing prerequisites, so the exact architecture needs to be confirmed before quoting.

Where Yealink fits

Yealink is the endpoint layer: desk phones, cordless devices and Teams-certified devices where required. That gives a business freedom to mix physical handsets, Linkus clients and Teams-based users rather than forcing one interface onto every role.

Decision framework

Compare operational responsibility as well as features.

Most modern PBX options can provide the basics. The better decision is usually about who manages the platform, how much infrastructure control you want, how users work and what happens when a site or connection fails.

CONTROL

Who owns the platform?

A cloud service can reduce infrastructure responsibility. Appliance or software deployments can provide more control where the business has a reason to own more of the operating environment.

USERS

Which interface fits each role?

Reception, fixed desks, hybrid staff, mobile users and Teams-heavy employees can use different endpoints while remaining on the same Yeastar phone-system core.

RESILIENCE

Where are the failure points?

Consider internet connectivity, local LAN, power, PBX hosting, SIP routing and alternate destinations rather than judging resilience from a single platform label.

ADMIN

Who makes day-to-day changes?

User creation, call-flow updates, licences, recording, reports and support escalation should have a clear owner before the system goes live.
